Tune of the Week: The Other People Place

James Stinson was one half of the afrofuturist techno group Drexciya. While the group’s work involved science fiction themes, Stinson’s solo work was more down-to-earth. His sole album under the moniker The Other People Place is a concept album about boy meets girl in an internet cafe. This was one of Stinson’s final recorded works, as he died in 2002. This last track of the album is a great ode to a sunny day, as well as an optimistic tune.
