Tune of the Week: Fun and Games

Killing Joke’s fourth album, “Fire Dances”, is something of a concept album about wild, pagan-like youth revolt. The imagery is of running in packs, dancing and destroying in frenzy. At the time the band were often running around with a twenty-odd person entourage including ex-cons of ill repute. All the songs have a driving energy that the band had been known for, but the sing-song quality of the tunes foretold of what was to come in the future.
